Les Cayrouses is 300 metres above the Lot river and located between two incredibly picturesque villages of Entraygues and Estaing a designated “plus beau village de France” each just 7 kms along the river.
La Vallee du Lot is only 250 kms due east from Bordeaux, a scenic day’s drive along the winding river hugging roads. Alternate route via Toulouse reduces the time to 5 hours.
Airports at Rodez (1 hour) and Toulouse (2.5 hours) provide easy access.
Alternately by road, 6 hours due south from Paris, 4 hours south west from Lyon,
2 hours north west from Montpellier, and 2.5 hours north east from Toulouse.
LOCAL TOWNS
The small local towns of Entraygues, Estaing and Espalion have many attractions throughout the season from family run restaurants, street cafes, markets both during the daytime and in the evening to the sporting facilities for canoeing, tennis, swimming and for golf.
The area is particularly suited to walking, cycling and for the more energetic, mountain biking (bring your own bikes). Details of marked walks and trails are available from the Tourist Information Centre.
A scenic 9-hole golf course is within half an hour of the property and has its own restaurant and bar.
The canoe centre in Entraygues offers a variety of descents of the Lot River with tuition if required.
